🐕 The Dog is the most loyal sign in the Chinese zodiac, honest and faithful and true, the friend who loves you plainly and never pretends otherwise. If you were born in 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, or 2030, this is your year. The rose is his flower, and the two belong together. It's the oldest symbol we have for love and devotion, for beauty worth slowing down over. Together they hold a small, warm truth, that loyalty and love are really the same thing, and the happiest hearts are the ones that still stop to breathe the roses in.
🖼️ This is another painting in my Chinese Zodiac series, twelve animals, each given its own little world. It's an original watercolor and gouache painting, made by hand and finished with my red seal. It's the kind of whimsical, surreal little world I love building at Pinkyhoot, warm and dreamlike at once.
