🐄 The Ox is the steady, dependable soul of the Chinese zodiac, patient and honest and quietly strong, the one who shows up, does the work, and makes everyone around them feel safe. If you were born in 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021, or 2033, this is your year. The tulip is the ox's flower, and the two go gently together. It's the bloom of spring and new beginnings, of deep and steadfast love, the kind that returns faithfully year after year. Together they hold a small, warm truth, that patience and love grow the same way, slowly, steadily, and always worth the wait.
🖼️ This is another painting in my Chinese Zodiac series, twelve animals, each given its own little world. It's an original watercolor and gouache painting, made by hand and finished with my red seal. It's the kind of whimsical, surreal little world I love building at Pinkyhoot, tender and dreamlike at once.
