Shell of Self #2, is a watercolor and gouache painting continuing my exploration of the body as a vessel. A docile figure, representing the quiet 'shell' we show to the world, is on the ground passively as vibrant blossoms burst forth, symbolizing those hidden emotions and memories that make up our inner landscape. My Orbettes—personified thoughts—gently interact with the shell from all directions, highlighting the conflicting internal voices that shape us. It’s a beautiful, gentle reminder of how our calm exterior can often mask a rich and chaotic inner world. It's a beautiful invitation to observe your own thoughts: Which truly serve you, and which are at odds?
